PROJECT
DESCRIPTION
This Design-Build project
replaces the 30 year-old refrigeration system in cold
storage at building 780 bays 1-6. The old system relied on
water for removing heat. When there’s no water pressure or
supply, the system would shutdown and there would be no
refrigeration for the freezers. Water and energy costs were
high.
The new designs made were as
follows: Replaced the system by air-cooled outdoor
condensers which was dipped and baked in a high grade
phenolic corrosion protective so it can withstand Guam’s
harsh environment plus it eliminated dependency in water
supply. Each freezer bay had 4 independent systems
providing redundancy and back-up wherein 2 systems could
hold the room at minus 15 deg F. Each system was designed
for multiple circuits for better temperature and humidity
control. The freezer could hold minus 20 deg F plus where
as the old system had trouble maintaining zero deg F.
We added new technology
using the web based browser enabling multiple authorized
customers to access the system from any internet capable
computer anywhere in the world. Autodialing system with the
use of phone, pager, email, or text will notify any
specified person if there is a problem in the area.
