Deputy Operations Manager - GPSI

Summary/General Description of Job:
The Deputy Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the company's operations and reach their goals as smoothly as possible. Reports directly to the Operations Manager to coordinate activities, provide communication to all company departments and/or partners, and construct special projects as necessary.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

  • Responsible and accountable for assisting the Operations Manager, including the identification of requirements and prioritizing, authorizing, measuring, integrating and controlling the program activities.

  • Oversee the execution of contractual and technical aspects of the operation.

  • Serve as an advisor on critical acquisition processes such as acquisition strategies, market research, acquisition planning, source selection planning, request for proposal preparation.

  • Ensure that solutions and scheduled in the specific delivery orders are implemented accordingly

  • Authorize payments for materials required to meet project deadlines.

  • Communicate with workforce and vendors to ensure that all materials needed to complete the project are acquired.

  • Identify potential supplier courses, meet with vendors, negotiate favorable supplier agreements.

  • Prepare reports summarizing the status of projects or tasks to demonstrate progress to the Management Team and Government

  • Performs other related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Demonstrate initiative, strong judgement, effective decision-making, leadership, strong work ethic, teamwork and competent writing and oral communication skills.

  • Ability to research, plan, coordinate and brief actions in support of leadership's goals, objectives and vision.

  • Experience working with and across management teams, joint staffs, commands, agencies and the services.

  • Skill in the use of common office machinery including copiers, fax machines and computers.

  • Ability to adhere to contract requirements, company policies, and all safety and health regulations


JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education, Experience & Professional Association):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Program Management or field related experience.

  • Three (3) years of experience in leadership or supervisory capacity within construction.

  • Six (6) to Ten (10) years of construction background experience.

  • Project Engineer or Site Superintendent background experience.

  • Skill in the use of MS Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint at an intermediate level.
