Environmental / Energy Manager

Job Description:

 

The Environmental Manager position is responsible for ensuring that the construction work being done in a project is in compliance with the environmental regulations relating to waste, clean resources such as water, energy, and other similar matters.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Administers procedures towards effective environmental strategies, practices, and action plans to ensure that work being done in a project creates sustainable development.

  • Ensures that workforce in a project adheres to environmental policies and procedures.

  • Designs waste management procedures for the construction project.

  • Prepares for or examines any environmental problems that might occur in the construction project and create workable action plans.

  • Oversees daily activities in a construction site and maintains environmental management systems.

  • Maintains an updated report of the latest environmental trends and guidelines.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates effective and proficient skills in both oral and written communication.

  • Possesses organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Skilled in active listening, retaining information, and asking questions as appropriate.

  • Has effective teamwork and collaborative skills.

  • Has the ability to perform technological duties such as using computers or other computer systems to perform data entering, creating purchasing orders, and more.

  • Has the ability to analyze information and effectively differentiate the pros and cons especially when making decisions.

  • Knowledge of data processing and electronic mail software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

  • Knowledge of environmental issues, guidelines, and other related sources.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production, and other related processes.

Education and Experience:

The Environmental/Energy Manager shall have a minimum of two years’ experience with Environmental procedures, familiarity with Environmental Management Systems (EMSs), and knowledge of environmental regulations and federal energy laws and policies (including energy and water reduction requirements and renewable energy requirements) that are applicable to project operations.
 

As Core Tech is a major participant in the military buildup related to the base realignment of American military forces in the Pacific, having any related experience in work involving the construction of military projects, such as providing a range of services to private organizations, armed escorts, and other government agencies, and having other related training is preferred for this position.
