Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization Manager

 

Job Summary:

The Sustainment, Restoration, and Modernization Manager maintains supervisory of maintenance operations and trades personnel involving reactive and preventative maintenance activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains supervisory oversite of Government housing maintenance operations for their designated location.

  • Prepares work assignments and coordinates work scheduling with the Production Control Supervisor or designated staff.

  • Spends most of the time on the installation assisting technicians with diagnosing problems, providing recommendations on repair options and ensuring quality work and good customer relations.

  • Communicates with management on significate issues as they arise and provides recommendations for repairs if needed.

  • Coordinates with the Quality Management team and/or the service desk when a service call will exceed the designated repair cost threshold to generate and IDIQ work order.

  • Ensures all IDIQ work is completed timely and coordinates with the Government for validation of the completed work.

  • Coordinates all material needs with the Material Coordinator.

  • Interacts and communicates clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing with housing residents, Government inspectors, and base Command Staff.

  • Ensures all technicians complete the service and work order paperwork correctly and completely, including all material request forms for van stock material used during the day and additional materials required to complete the work as the work is performed.

  • Ensures all service order, IDIQ work orders and any additionally paperwork, such as material request forms are turned into Production Control, at a minimum the end of each shift.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates excellent and proficient skills in both oral and written communication.

  • Possesses organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Skilled in active listening, retaining information, and asking questions as appropriate.

  • Can observe and learn how operations function so that they can identify risks to people and property; has the ability to minimize risks.

  • Has effective teamwork and collaborative skills.

  • Extensive knowledge of maintenance principles and practices.

  • Knowledge of federal and state codes/guidelines; OSHA, ANSI, and other regulatory agencies.

  • Knowledge of generally accepted standards of workmanship in construction / maintenance of facilities, grounds, and power distribution systems.

  • Knowledge of Government contracting terminologies and applications.

  • Knowledge of environmental issues relating to contractual requirements.

  • Knowledge of data processing and electronic mail software: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

  • Ability to adhere to all contract requirements, company policies, and all safety and health regulations.

  • Ability to deal professionally and courteously with a variety of people in diversified situations.

Education and Experience:

 

The SRM Manager position requires a minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent. Additionally, having three (3) years of experience in military or base maintenance operations or related civilian maintenance operations, two (2) years of supervisory experience, or five to eight (5 to 8) years actual experience as a lead personnel supervising housing maintenance or construction of housing and barracks projects is preferable
