Job Summary:

 

The Civil Engineer position assesses civil engineering requirements for projects, including site improvements, executes necessary performance according to contract requirements, completing documentations on time, and cultivating customer satisfaction with the client, all in alignment with Core Tech Mission, Vision, and Values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

​

• Plans construction schedule, determines manpower levels and material quantities, and ensures proper equipment and trades are assigned as required.

• Directs or participates in surveying to lay out installations or establish reference points, grades, and elevations to guide construction.

• Coordinates with procurement regarding material requisitions and purchase orders.

• Implements and monitors safety measures and proper housekeeping at the jobsite.

• Analyzes survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photographs, and other topographical or geologic data to plan civil works for construction projects.

• Ensures proper equipment and trades are assigned as required.

• Inspects project sites and directs work by construction to ensure conformance to civil engineering plans and specifications as well as quality control and safety standards.

• May conduct materials test and analysis, using tools and equipment and applying engineering knowledge.

• Prepares progress reports for project manager and senior management on daily construction activities, weekly accomplishments, production forecast, evaluation of subcontractors, and overall project performance from manpower, on-site logistic and construction safety.

• Formulates reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs, and scheduling.

• Provides technical advice regarding various aspects of the civil engineering works to construction supervisor and subcontractors.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of data processing and electronic mail software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

• Knowledge of raw materials, production, and other related processes.

 

Education and Experience:

​

The Civil Engineer position has a minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, and at least two years of post-baccalaureate verifiable work experience in Civil Engineering as a QA/QC or Project Engineer.
 

As Core Tech is a major participant in the military buildup related to the base realignment of American military forces in the Pacific, having any related experience in work involving the construction of military projects, such as providing a range of services to private organizations, armed escorts, and other government agencies, and having other related training is preferred for
this position.
