Procurement Clerk

Job Description:

 

The Procurement Clerk assists in purchasing goods and services needed in the company. A Procurement Clerk’s main duty is to track purchased goods and supplies, and make sure that they are delivered on time, and cultivating customer satisfaction with the client, all in alignment with Core Tech Mission, Vision, and Values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assists in tracking the status of purchasing materials, equipment, and other supplies needed by the company.

  • Assists with the day-to-day duties of the Procurement department.

  • Locates potential vendors and suppliers using the internet, word-of-mouth, or catalogs.

  • Prepares purchasing orders for local and outside vendors and customers.

  • Assists in monitoring in-house inventory movement and makes necessary purchases on low inventory supplies.

  • Tracks shipment and delivery status of purchases made to ensure that deliveries are in good condition.

  • Keeps a comparison of lists of purchasing and pricing lists of goods and services that are needed in the company.

  • Assists in calculating costs of orders and forwards invoices to appropriate accounts.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

         

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrates effective and proficient skills in both oral and written communication.

  • Possesses organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Skilled in active listening, retaining information, and asking questions as appropriate.

  • Has effective teamwork and collaborative skills.

  • Has the ability to perform technological duties such as using computers or other computer systems to perform data entering, creating purchasing orders, and more.

  • Has the ability to analyze information and effectively differentiate the pros and cons especially when making purchases.

  • Knowledge of data processing and electronic mail software: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook, etc.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production, and other related processes in the Procurement department.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

The Procurement Clerk position requires a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent. Additionally, having related office or administrative experience is preferred.
