Job Summary:

The Senior Project Director provides executive-level leadership and oversight for a portfolio of large, high-value construction projects, with a focus on federal and U.S. military work. This role is responsible for aligning project execution with company objectives, ensuring performance excellence, and maintaining strong client and stakeholder relationships.

The ideal candidate is a strategic, solutions-oriented leader with extensive experience managing complex projects. Expertise in planning, cost control, and risk management is essential, along with a track record of guiding teams, resolving critical issues, and supporting long-term business growth in the federal construction sector.

Supervisory Responsibilities::

• Oversees project managers, superintendents, and senior project staff across multiple sites

• Establishes performance metrics (KPIs) and evaluates senior leadership for alignment with strategic goals

• Provides mentorship, succession planning, and professional development opportunities to project teams

• Drives a culture of accountability, excellence, and continuous improvement

Essential Duties and Responsibility:

• Provides strategic leadership through all phases of construction to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality delivery

• Oversees planning processes and ensures proper implementation of method statements and construction sequencing

• Manages financial performance across the portfolio, including cost controls and forecasting

• Leads strategy and resolution for construction claims and entitlement matters

• Engages regularly with clients, especially U.S. military representatives to ensure mission alignment and relationship continuity

• Approves high-level contracts and change orders and advises on key procurement strategies

• Identifies and mitigates project risks, and leads mitigation strategies across multiple sites

• Promotes innovation, including the integration of construction management platforms (e.g., Procore) and exploration of AI applications in project delivery

• Represents the company in executive-level meetings, negotiations, and stakeholder briefings

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Strong leadership and team-building skills with a track record of delivering complex projects

• Deep knowledge of construction operations, federal contracting, and military standards

• Proficiency in planning, cost control, and claims strategy

• Executive-level decision-making and risk mitigation capabilities

• Familiarity with construction technologies such as Procore or similar systems

• Interest or experience in AI tools and emerging technologies for construction innovation

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels

Education and Experience:

​

A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree is preferred. Candidates must have over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, including project manager-level leadership on three or more projects exceeding $100M, or more than 10 years in such roles. Federal and U.S. military project experience is required. Professional certification such as PMP or CCM is required; a PE license is preferred.
